My hand is the Lord.
Boundlessly blissful is my hand.
This hand holds all healing secrets.
Which make whole with its gentle touch.
- Rig Veda.
Based on the rejuvenative
practices of Ayurveda, bliss therapies are offered at The Tara Centre.
Abhyanga, or body massage,
is the most ancient technique used for relieving pain. Still a valid and
thriving art in most regions of India, Abhyanga is used to manipulate and
correct dosha disorders; to relieve swollen tissues; and to promote
regeneration of the tissues and organs, as well as the internal functioning
of the body. Moreover, massage stimulates the skin, muscles, veins,
arteries, the circulatory systems and the nervous system. It improves the
skin, strengthen the lungs, intestines and bones, and regulates the
digestive system.
Abhyanga increases bodily
heat and the flow of life-supporting oxygen; it also improves circulation,
causing the body to flush out its waste products more efficiently. Promoting
vitality, strength, stamina and flexibility, abhyanga also improves
concentration, intelligence, confidence, esteem and youthfulness - Our
Ayurvedic bliss therapies benefit everyone.
A warm herbal oil
formulation is used to suit your needs. Herbal
powders may also be used.
Marma points
are stimulated during the therapy and Kansa
wands are
used.
The health benefits of
Ayurvedic massage have to do with both the oil and the touch.
Inspired by the sequences
and techniques of Maya Tiwari, the practice of Abhyanga therapy has been
separated into segments, giving origin to the Ayurvedic bliss therapies by
